Welcome to BCC Sydney

Pastor Letter for September 2017

Dear Members and Friends

Here comes the spring time in beautiful Sydney. We are very grateful to the Lord for His provisions and protections throughout this harsh winter and flu season, in the good times and in the bad times we declare that Jesus Christ is our Lord and savior. September if full of beauty, excitements, travels and of course here in Australia the very first Sunday is Fathers’ Day celebration.

Fatherhood , family life and our Christian faith are more challenging than ever these days. The world is changing towards self centered relationship rather than God centered relationship as Paul wrote to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 Remember this: There are some terrible times coming in the last days. 2 People will love only themselves and money. They will be proud and boast about themselves. They will abuse others with insults. They will not obey their parents. They will be ungrateful and against all that is pleasing to God. 3 They will have no love for others and will refuse to forgive anyone. They will talk about others to hurt them and will have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 People will turn against their friends. They will do foolish things without thinking and will be so proud of themselves. Instead of loving God, they will love pleasure. 5 They will go on pretending to be devoted to God, but they will refuse to let that “devotion” change the way they live. Stay away from these people!

To apply this into our lives we need to be reminded to one another that this is the society that we and our children are living right now. As fathers of faith in Jesus Christ we need to focus on the word of God and know that we are in the last days, the scriptures is fulfilling and our father in heaven wants us to live in His holiness. We as believers in Christ need to be firm in our commitment and love to have faith and always to guard our hearts, our homes with the truth of the gospel of Jesus in his blood and say “No” to the compromising values of the world. We need to follow Christ rather than bowing down and locked into the slavery of confusing materialistic and ideas of earthly systems. As we celebrate Fathers’ Day in this month lets live by faith in Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth and the life to lead us to our heavenly home of our Father who art in heaven and to shar our faith with our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Proverbs 22:6Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)6 Teach children in a way that fits their needs, and even when they are old, they will not leave the right path. Make sure your Dads are really happy as you wish them “Happy Fathers’ Day” and the best way to do it is to obey their teachings and praying with them daily. Amen. Happy Fathers’ Day to all the Dads near and far. God bless you all.

In Christ, Shane khin (Pastor Burmese Christian Church Sydney)
