Pastor Letter for December 2017

Dear Members and Friends in the family of the Lord Jesus,

Welcome to the Summer time Sweet December 2017, praise the Lord, we thank the Lord for November fullof activities and grace. The annual married couplesí Day went very well with house full celebration before the lord and before our generations, it was so good to see couples walked down the aisle and in hand, we all witness and acknowledge faith hope and love all along their journey in Jesus name, Aunty Kyu and Uncle Edison prayed for all the couples since they are the most senior in marriage 47 years. We thank the Lord for all the seniors in our church for their prayers, commitment and love to us all as we celebrate senior citizensí Sunday on the last Sunday of November, Pastor Bob Friskinís message and passion to serve the Lord touched every heart and we are so blessed to receive Godís message through him, what a faithful and good man of God.

December and Christmas time is the month that we can recall our memories and reflect the goodness of God 2 Corinthians 9:15 (CEV) 15 Thank God for his gift that is too wonderful for words!, and also we and the world have every reason to celebrate life because of Jesus Christ who came from heaven to earth and saved us and gives eternal life John 3:16-17 (CEV) 16 God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. 17 God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him to save them! . At Christmas we have the message of reconciliation to share because of Christ God and sinners can reconcile and mankind can reconcile with one another Hallelujah, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (CEV) 17 Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. 18 God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others. 19 What we mean is that God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace. 20 We were sent to speak for Christ, and God is begging you to listen to our message. We speak for Christ and sincerely ask you to make peace with God. Finally Christmas is a time to worship the Lord as individual and as the whole church because he came we have access to heaven and the throne of God, My friends, the blood of Jesus gives us courage to enter the most holy place 20 by a new way that leads to life! And this way takes us through the curtain that is Christ himself. 21 We have a great high priest who is in charge of Godís house. 22 So letís come near God with pure hearts and a confidence that comes from having faith. Letís keep our hearts pure, our consciences free from evil, and our bodies washed with clean water. 23 We must hold tightly to the hope that we say is ours. After all, we can trust the one who made the agreement with us. 24 We should keep on encouraging each other to be thoughtful and to do helpful things. 25 Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lordís coming is getting closer. Have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed new year 2018 in Jesus name.

In Christ, Shane khin (Pastor Burmese Christian Church Sydney)
